New Co-operative food magazine in stores today!
I am really excited to be the Editor of a new food magazine for the Co-operative.  It is packed with great ideas and there is a digital version too, click here for the recipes and videos.

Cook School

My recent book Cook School is still in the shops and it's available from Amazon.  I have written the recipes to suit your child's developmental age so that your child can cook the recipes with very little help from you.  This will hopefully help to build your child's confidence and independence in the kitchen. It is packed with recipes ranging from an easy dip to prawn cocktail, crunchy chicken and a fish curry.  Margeurite Patten has written the foreword.  Please drop me an email to let me know what you think of it or if you have time write a quick review on Amazon.  Enjoy!

New recipes added

I will be adding some new recipes to my site shortly so please keep coming back to take a look.  I have added a delicious rose water cake that is very easy to make and looks and tastes amazing. It is ideal for a special tea or as a present for someone.  My children also love to make the energy bars for snacks.

Research from Bristol University shows that 3 year old children fed a diet mainly made up of junk food have a lower IQ when they are older than children fed a varied diet made up of mainly home cooked foods.  For more information about how to feed your toddlers take a look at my Toddler and Baby Healthy Eating Planner book.

Camper van cooking

Watch out for new and intersting recipes for camping cooking and meet our orange pride and joy, our dubby doo VW 1970's camper van.  Also dont forget that Healthy lunchboxes is now in paperback in the shops - full of ideas for ways to help you make healthy lunchboxes for your children without spending ages in the kitchen.

Grow it, cook it with Kids

Another of my recent books 'Grow it Cook it with Kids' Ryland, Peters and Small, teaches children some basic gardening and cooking skills.

The aim of my book is to show children how to grow a few basic plants and then how to pick them and prepare them to eat.  I have written about the things that I grow with my children in our garden.

Most children love spending time in the garden, helping to dig, sow seeds and water their plants.  They are particularly excited when the produce is ready for picking.  You don't need a lot of space.  A windowsill can be enough for growing a few herbs and you only need a big bucket or bin to grow some potatoes!

Now is the ideal time to start sowing a few seeds.  So take a look at the book and get planting.  Do email me if you have any questions about the book or want to tell me what you and your children have grown or cooked and I will try to post updates on my website.  ENJOY!

Other news

Also, don't forget that if you are looking for present ideas for children, take a look at 'The Silver Spoon for Children'.

I was delighted when the publisher Phaidon asked me to adapt and write a selection of the recipes taken from the renowned Silver Spoon, a best-selling Italian cookbook that has been cherished for generations.

I love to encourage children into the kitchen and I am on the committee for the Children's Food Festival in Oxford. I ran the Kid's Kitchen marquee which was a huge success - please look at my news page to see what went on.
